Dr. Kristine Qureshi, RN, CEN, PHNA-BC, FAAN, PhD

Regional Human Resources for Health Coordinator for the US Affiliated Pacific Islands, USA

Dr. Qureshi received her PhD in nursing science from Columbia University in NYC. She has
extensive experience in the acute care, community and public health sectors and recently retired from
the University of Hawaii where she was a professor and associate dean for research and global health.
Dr. Qureshi now works for the Pacific Islands Health Officers Association secretariat, where she
serves as the Regional Human Resources for Health Coordinator. She has US national board
certification in both advanced public health nursing and emergency nursing; her focused area of
research and scholarship is public health preparedness, disaster nursing and healthcare worker safety.
Dr. Qureshi is also the global director for the International Council of Nurses Leadership for Change
Programme; is a certified global nursing consultant and a fellow in the American Academy of
Nursing.
