from TWNA President and Conference Chair
It is my great pleasure to announce that the Taiwan Nurses Association (TWNA) and Asia American / Pacific Islander Nurses Association (AAPINA) will co-host The 7th International Nursing Research Conference of World Academy of Nursing Science (7th WANS) under the theme Nurses Together for Global Challenges - Leading Nursing Science and Knowledge Generation Post Global Pandemic on October 18-19, 2022 in Taipei, Taiwan.
The conference theme focuses on the vital and leading role that nurses play within healthcare systems to address global health challenges and on critical current challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic and other emerging diseases. As nurses, we should understand how to best leverage nursing science and our professional knowledge to demonstrate our uniqueness, professionalism, and value. We must use our talent to maintain and enhance the health of our people and further make our societies better and safer places to live. We are better positioned to attain these goals than ever before.
You may be aware that TWNA has hosted its Nursing Research Conference annually since 1983 and the Asia-Pacific Nursing Research Conference (APNRC) triennially since 2014, as well as held the highly successful Taiwan International Nursing Conference Endorsed by ICN (TWINC) in 2020 as part of the Association’s ongoing efforts to improve its nurses’ research competencies and facilitate networking amongst nursing communities nationally, regionally, and globally. Since joining WANS in June 2021, TWNA eagerly worked toward earning the honor to host the WANS Conference 2022. The leadership of the TWNA Board and the collective efforts of our Nursing Research and International Affairs Committees accomplished this goal. TWNA conducted a very successful joint Conference with AAPINA in 2019, and I have no doubt that TWNA is set to host a truly exceptional 7th WANS 2022.
On behalf of TWNA, I cordially welcome you to take advantage of this great opportunity to submit your abstract, share your research findings, and register to attend the 7th WANS, in the beautiful country of Taiwan. At the conference, you will have plenty of opportunities to meet, interact, share experiences, and cement new friendships with over 1,000 clinical nurses, researchers, educators, administrators, and policymakers. The conference will highlight the importance of the contributions that our nurses have made during the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, many high-profile nursing experts, scholars, and leaders from across the globe will be on hand to share their views and expertise during the plenary keynote, main, and invited symposia sessions. Take this chance to enjoy Taiwanese hospitality, our beautiful nature, and rich and diverse culture.
Your attendance is greatly anticipated and important to making the Conference a great success. For more information about 7th WANS, please visit the official website: http://twna2022.org/7wans/. We sincerely welcome you, and look forward to seeing you in October 2022 in Taiwan!
