It is my great honor to announce that the Taiwan Nurses Association (TWNA) will host The 7th International Research Conference of World Society of Disaster Nursing (7th WSDN) under the theme Nurses Together for Global Challenges: Innovation, Integration & Illustration: Building Back Better in Disaster Nursing on October 20-21, 2022 in Taipei, Taiwan.
The conference theme focuses on the vital and leading role that nurses play within healthcare systems to address global health challenges, especially in terms of ensuring effective responses to natural and human-made disasters. We will never forget the difficulties and suffering borne by us, our colleagues, our profession, and humanity during the COVID-19 pandemic, which has, so far, claimed more than 4.55 million lives. Although the situation is getting better, there are still so many people in resource-limited areas who require greater attention and care. I truly hope that, through this conference, we can all learn from one another about how to build better in disaster nursing using the 3 ‘I’s of Innovation, Integration & Illustration and how to further contribute to public health and welfare. This is an effective approach to demonstrating the value and contribution of nursing to society.
As Chairperson of the 7th WSDN and TWNA President, I cordially welcome you to submit your abstracts, share your research findings, and register to attend this world-class conference. While at the conference, you will have many opportunities to interact with colleagues from around the world with deep expertise in disaster nursing. In addition to inviting top-notch speakers to host scientific sessions with the most updated content in the plenary keynotes, main sessions, invited symposia, and panel sessions, we have also arranged visits to the National Science and Technology Center for Disaster Reduction and other related facilities as well as a booth exhibition and lunch symposia to introduce conference participants to the latest high-tech devices and exchange ideas with entrepreneurs. We anticipate the 7th WSDN to be attended by over 500 clinical nurses, researchers, educators, administrators, and policymakers.
Your attendance is greatly anticipated and important to make 7th WSDN a great success.
